John Marendes Jr.

John Marendes Jr. (23) is a health enthusiast who is all about optimizing health for a better life. He was born in Chino Hills, California and raised in Surprise, Arizona, in his Kenyan family. He graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. His interests are in research that focuses on lifestyle choices that improves health, promotes quality aging, and reduces the risk of disease; especially in the brain. John's research not only adds to the current literature in health science, but also provides information to those who are looking for ways to better take care of their own health.

John views a healthy lifestyle as a lifelong journey that is unique to each individual. Some journey's may be more difficult and longer than others, however, this is a battle between you and yourself; and no one else. John Marendes Jr. started his health journey during his first year of college in October of 2017. His roommate convinced him to start going to the gym, which ignited the spark to his lifelong journey of a healthy lifestyle. Four years later, he created Health is Wealth to provide information and help others throughout their health journey's.
